England again make a clean sweep in the European Championships in Neuss!
England repeated their results in Amstelveen 2009, winning all three major titles in the 60+, 65+ and 70+ age groups, as well as the Tournament Trophy 60+ event. De Zestigplussers 2nd team won the Tournament Trophy 65+ event.
It proved to be a well organised event, with over 400 hockey players participating in a total of 25 teams. The weather held out for virtually the whole tournament, and the atmosphere on and around the hockey pitches was always lively and extremely friendly.
The local helpers from the Neuss club did a marvellous job in providing players and supporters with catering and (even more important!) bar facilities.
Thanks go out to the Neuss organising committee, particularly Butz and Astrid Paul, and to Wim van Noortwijk, the Tournament Director, and his team, especially Bert van Gils and Willem, for the smooth running of the tournament.
